Part IV: Are Toxins Dragging You Down?

Nutrition To Energize Your Life’s Work
We are all exposed to toxins every day, from the air we breathe, chemicals in our food and water, medications, cleaning and skin care products, to dental and medical procedures. We can’t completely eliminate all toxins, but we can do things to greatly reduce our exposure. These toxins are impacting our overall health, ability to lose weight for some, and our energy levels.

Potential Signs of Toxin Overload

·         Body Odor
·         Skin Conditions
·         Bad Breath
·         Cellulite
·         Lymph Tenderness
·         Headaches
·         Digestive Problems
·         Edema
·         Pain
·         Inflammation
·         Hormonal Imbalances
·         Chemical Sensitivities
·         Motion Sickness
·         Sleep Problems
·         Fatigue
·         Varicose Veins
·         Excess Weight
·         Puffy Eyes or Dark Circles
·         Difficulty Concentrating
·         Sinus Congestion
·         Canker Sores

If you want to live a healthy, energetic life then you need to work to reduce your exposure to toxins and eliminate them from the body.

Five Ways to Reduce Your Exposure to Toxins

1.    Avoid Mold. Mold in your home will wreak havoc on your health. If you have mold or suspect mold in your home it is vital to remedy the situation or move into a healthy environment. You will not be able to obtain health and optimal energy levels in a home or work environment that is contaminated with mold.

2.    Choose Organic Produce. Conventional produce is sprayed with pesticides that are toxic in our bodies.

3.    Choose Grass-Fed Organic Meats and Cage-Free Eggs.  You want to avoid all foods from animals that have been given hormones or antibiotics. You also want to choose meat and eggs from an animal that was fed a healthy diet and was able to get exercise.

4.    Cleaning Products. Use natural cleaners such as vinegar and baking soda to kill bacteria and effectively clean most surfaces. You can also find some great non-toxic cleaners at your local health food store.

5.    Skin Care Products. A simple rule is to not put anything on your skin that you wouldn’t eat. Anything you put on your skin gets absorbed into the body. My current favorite moisturizer for my skin is a combination of hemp oil, frankincense essential oil, and lavender essential oil. Coconut oil is also great for the skin and has natural sunscreen properties.
