Make MUCH More Money in MUCH Less Time with a Product and Service Funnel

If you are a coach, consultant, speaker, or another type of "expert" entrepreneur, and all you offer are big-ticket products and services, such as keynote speeches or large $1,000+ coaching and consulting packages, then you are missing out on a HUGE market of customers and clients and multiple income streams.  You also are working a lot harder for your money than you have to.

First you MUST MUST MUST have something of GREAT VALUE that is FREE in EXCHANGE for an email address.  Your email list is your pot of gold. Your give-away must be something that is so juicy and urgent for your target customers and clients, that it can't be passed up.  Sorry, a "newsletter" doesn't cut it anymore. Yawn. You have to be more creative.

Then, you want to have at least one product or service at each layer of the funnel, so that you can meet people at their respective price points and work them down your funnel into higher ticket items.

Some people may only ever buy the $25-$100 item, but if you didn't have one, you'd miss out on that revenue completely.  And the people who bought your lower-priced products and services are more likely to eventually buy the higher ticket ones, because they got to know, like, and trust you first.

It's much harder to sell a $5,000 product or service to a stranger than someone who has been a customer before.

So what kinds of things can you sell in your funnel?  Here are some examples.

Note: Product and service pricing is different for every business.  Some webinars might be $25 and others might be $100-$200 or more. It depends on your content, your customers, your brand and expert status, demonstrative results, and other factors.

FREE
  • e-Book
  • short report
  • audio or video series
  • daily/weekly tips
  • first chapter of a longer book

$25-$100
  • book or workbook
  • a paid teleseminar or webinar
  • a ticket to a live 1-2 hour presentation
  • a subscription to a magazine or membership website

$100-$500
  • a system or toolkit (a set of templates)
  • a 4 to 6-week webinar/teleclass
  • a consultation or coaching session
  • a 1-2 day workshop
$500-$1,000
  • a speaking fee
  • a smaller coaching/consulting package
  • an action plan
  • a higher-level conference/workshop
$1,000-$5,000
  • a speaking fee
  • a retreat
  • a "done for you" product/service (like a website)
$5,000+ ($10K-$25K-$100K)
  • a keynote address
  • longer-term coaching program
  • corporate/executive consulting

Again each business is different.  A health coach offering a nutrition plan may only charge $100.  While a corporate consultant may do a business plan for $50,000. So the price points of the funnel may be different too.

Ideally, you will be trying different things at different levels of your funnel and see what sells the best.  It's a process to get the right mix, but even while you test and refine, you'll be making much more money along the way and well into the future.

If you are a coach, consultant, speaker or other kind of "expert" service-driven entrepreneur, leveraging the power of groups is the key to growing a 6 and 7-figure business. To learn more, go to www.MoreClientsLessTime.com.

How to Manage Your Clients

Say what??  It seems a little alien to think about going beyond providing quality services, being punctual, warm, friendly and very competent.  However, you can foster a relationship with your clients by better understanding their communication style and personality; making sure you understand what they want from you; giving them thoughtful feedback and ideas; and being reliable.

Help them understand what their part is in the success of a project or program.  Be honest (blunt) about how long it might take and how much it is likely to cost.  As the saying goes, “Under promise and over deliver.”  It will keep them coming back for more!

Managing your client is about earning their trust and respect by working together to create the best possible working relationship.

A few tips to strengthening and keeping a positive relationship with your clients.

  • Learn how to best communicate with them.
What level of detail do they prefer?  How often do they want to meet?  Are they in a hurry or do they prefer to study the details?

  • Be proactive.
Understand the strengths you bring to the work and ensure they are aware of them. Be confident and open-minded and not arrogant.

  • Meet regularly.
Keep them up to date on what is happening with their project.  Share as much as you can without burdening them with too much detail. Show progress and keep to time lines as much as possible.
  • Ask their opinion.
Ask for their perspective on things.  Share your ideas and planned approach, and ask for their input. Ask for their feedback and ideas.  Be sure to listen!

  • Create solutions.
Every project can have challenges or problems.  When that occurs, develop solution choices before sharing the problem with them.  If they have a complaint, look at ways to solve it. Don’t defend yourself or your company.  No excuses. Just make it right.

  • Develop a power that makes you attractive.
Be the expert, stay apprised of changes in your industry, understand the competition, create and sustain a dream customer/client relationship. Become indispensable! Market and utilize a strength that they will appreciate and use.

  • Do a reality check
Remain positive and let them know what is possible – or not possible – to achieve.  Make every effort to be outstanding…..within reality.

Invest the time to build a relationship with your clients, understand how they prefer to be communicated with, and model your leadership behaviors to support those preferences.  They will trust you more because of it!

“Getting lots of sales is my #1 priority.”

Well . . . yes, after you have created a structure for fulfilling the orders and managing the business.

Of course you need money to make money. Sales would provide that.  Please consider. . . it is very difficult to start a new business without enough resources to make it run.  Plan to invest or borrow enough so that you have a way to handle production and delivery.

CASE STUDY
Sylvia* is a chemist who is a miracle worker when it comes to creating formulas for wonderful skincare and massage products.  She had a small work space and equipment with limited capacity in which to produce her product.  And she did!

Then she found clients who loved her products and wanted more. All of a sudden Sylvia could not deliver the products in a timely fashion and maintain the quality.  She was working night and day, was exhausted, and confused about how to make things better.
It took some time being coached for her finally to open to the answer.  Get organized.  Make a plan. Get help.  She now has two part-time people who help with sales, follow-up and manufacturing.  A larger facility, bigger equipment and an employee allow her to produce enough product for a whole month.

What a difference it has made in her business!  She can now better access her creative talents to develop special Holiday packages and new skin care products.  NOW she is prepared to sell, sell, sell and her revenues are about to triple!
