Why Your Website Should Work for You, Not Just Look Good

In today’s digital world, a website is often the first interaction someone has with a business, organization, or personal brand. That first impression matters—but a successful website needs to do much more than simply look good.

As the founder and owner of Bereza WP, I’ve always believed that a good website should work for the people using it. It should be easy to navigate, fast to load, secure, accessible, and built with a clear purpose.

A Website Is Part of Your Business

A website shouldn’t exist simply because everyone says you need one. It should have a job.

For some businesses, that job may be generating leads. For others, it may be selling products, answering customer questions, building credibility, or making it easier for people to get in touch.

Ask This First

Before making changes to a website, it’s worth asking a simple question:

What do I want visitors to accomplish?

Once that answer is clear, design and technology decisions become much easier.

Speed Matters

People are impatient online. If a website takes too long to load, visitors may leave before they ever see what the business has to offer.

Website performance can have a direct impact on usability, conversions, and search visibility. A fast website creates a better experience for visitors and makes it easier for them to find the information, products, or services they need.

What Does Pizza And Karate Have To Do With Online Marketing?

Being my first article here, I was asked to make this about me: To introduce myself to you.

I hate talking about myself. As a long time blogger and podcaster my goal is to help my audience through my content. But this was the assignment so I'll give it my best shot...

Who Is This Guy?

I own a company called Nuclear Chowder Marketing, a digital marketing agency. We help businesses large and small get more business online (and offline).

Most of our clients come to us looking to improve traffic to their website. Our specialty is SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

However, we are different than most SEO companies. We’re not just concerned about traffic. Driving traffic is a piece of cake.

Our passion is in building traffic AND conversions. The conversion, when traffic turns into a customer, is the real secret to success for any business both online and offline.

Most businesses want more traffic. And that's important.

But what you do with that traffic is where the rubber meets the road (and where the real money comes).

Because of this we practice an integrated approach to online marketing which connects the dots from search to social to email to content and more.

Where It Started

In 2002 when I became part owner of a martial arts school. My role was to market the then struggling and very small business.

I immersed myself in all things sales and marketing. Coming from a technology background, I was also able to take advantage of emerging online technology… such as Google. That was a lucky stroke as online marketing was about to become a hugely important tool for any business.

Very quickly, the school went from struggling to one of the top schools in the country.

Opportunity Knocked

One day a parent of one of our students came to me and asked if I would help his business. He told me he was searching online for a pizza place and our school appeared in the search results.

He was so amazed by that and the fact he saw our school everywhere that he hired me to do the same for his business. In 2006 my digital marketing agency was born.

In 2010 I sold my share of the school back to my partner and went full time helping businesses with their online marketing. Today we are what I call a full service digital marketing agency.

We can handle about any sized online marketing need. We create simple to extremely complex websites and manage any level of online marketing for companies large and small.

What's In If For You

What brings me here as a contributor to this blog is my passion for teaching. I have always loved teaching, which is what originally brought me into martial arts school ownership.

I joined the Hartford Springfield Speaker's Network to better my speaking skills so I can share and teach more.

I want to challenge you to think beyond traffic in your business. I want to challenge you to adopt a fanatical focus on conversions.

My goal is to bring you content that will help you increase the conversions in your business. So you're not just attracting qualified prospects but turning more of them into happy customers.

Do You Have A Question About Online Marketing?

I hope you will enjoy and get value out of the content I’ll share here from my many years experience in online marketing and business. I'd love to answer any questions you have. Leave your question in the comments below and I'll answer in an upcoming article here.

For the Love of Helping Others Shine

Hello and happy day to you.

Today is a great day to step out and be seen. To let the world know you are here, what you stand for, and what gifts you will be sharing to help others along their journey.

Today is a great day for me to do the same; and so I will.

Chana Monahan, Owner of Greenhouse Graphics, LLC.
Hi. I’m Chana Monahan. I’m a quirky, sometimes shy, people-loving person who thrives in a team environment and who thoroughly enjoys helping others by way of motivation, education and evaluation. I am here because I love building fun, adventurous and rewarding relationships. I am here to share. I am here to help expand your business toolbox. I am here as a resource. I am here to listen. I am here to learn. I am here on the 26th of each month. I look forward to seeing you, here, too!

The day I became an entrepreneur, and opened Greenhouse Graphics, llc twelve years ago, I did so because I knew I had the gift of being able to listen to someone’s story, to walk into his/her business, feel the energy of the space and then, seemingly by magic, create visual pieces that embody the essence of the business. I have often been rewarded by the clients’ relief-filled exhilaration, as they realized they now have foundational marketing materials to be proud of. I knew I was on to something positive for all involved.

Today, Greenhouse Graphics, llc is a team of kickin’ creative personalities, each tackling a different branch of the marketing tree. We are the marketing department for many business owners; relieving them of the daunting and often frustrating, time-consuming tasks of all-things-marketing.

Imagine reaping the rewards of all-out marketing efforts, when your only responsibility is to make one decision and provide feedback on a weekly basis.

Yes, many others like that idea too.

We stand for individuality, transparency and the implementation of what is right for the client, without imposing trends on them. We stand for building relationships; between our clients and ourselves, between our client and his/her customers, and with our business partners and local community overall. Relationships build trust and growth; we like that. We stand for giving back and paying-it-forward; we all need a helpful, friendly hand sometimes. We stand for environmentally friendly practices; we employ them every chance we get! We stand for assisting our clients with expressing what they stand for too.

As the months roll forward I will be writing on a variety of business, marketing and networking topics; which may include trends, pros-n-cons, testing the waters of something new, sustainability or shaking off a fear. I’m honestly, not really sure exactly what the articles will consist of, yet. However, I do know that whatever it is, it will be just what you needed (and hopefully wanted) to read on the twenty-sixth day of the month.
